The experience of fear in public spaces is what women have been facing since ages and the pandemic has increased this trouble more than ever before. The public places have become desolated and are largely impacting the movement of women in public spaces. The pandemic norms have resulted in a gradual decrease in the level of women's safety around the world, as empty streets are prone to more crimes and abuses. Jacobs refers to the concept of “eyes on the street” which is the activity taking place in city streets that keeps the movement and security of the street intact.
